CIDOB, the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs, is Spain’s oldest international relations think tank. Since 1973 CIDOB has been an important reference in information and policy-oriented research in international issues. CIDOB is an independent, non-partisan centre funded by a variety of local, national, and international public and private actors. CIDOB has implemented its applied research in several EU-funded projects, participating in FP7 projects like INEX, and coordinating some others like EU4SEAS, ATLANTIC FUTURE, and SAHWA. CIDOB coordinates as well the Migration Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) update and is a partner in the European Parliament’s Framework Contract Research network to provide foreign policy expertise in Security and Defence. CIDOB’s areas of expertise relevant to this project are: European Foreign Policy, Mediterranean Area, Eastern Europe, Migrations, and Security. Turkey stands out as a key country in CIDOB’s Strategic plan for 2014–2017.
