EL MANAR

The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Tunis, established in 1957, is an essential component of the University of Tunis El Manar. It provides rich training which is diversified and adapted to employability prospects. Students are also prepared for the various legal professions and training for their professional integration.

Mohamed Kerrou
Mohamed Kerrou is Professor of Political Science at the University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia). He is a Founding Member of the « Observatoire Tunisien de la Transition Démocratique » » (OTTD) and Member of the Scientific Council of the « Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l’Homme » (MMSH) in Aix-en-Provence, France. He obtained his PHD from the University of Social Sciences of Toulouse (France) and his « Habilitation » (HDR) on Sociology from the University of Tunis (Tunisia). He published several academic articles and books. The last one is: Habib Bourguiba. Ma Vie, Tunis: Apollonia, 2016, 350p. Mohamed Kerrou’s main fields of interest are: Comparative politics in North Africa and the Middle East, Islam and politics in the contemporary world, women and new public spheres, civil societies in the Mediterranean countries.

Asma Nouira is Ph.D in political Sciences, a professor of Politcial Sciences and Public Law at Faculty of law and political sciences, University Tunis El-Manar, and an expert on official religious institutions in Tunisia, Islamic studies (special field: relationship between State and religion, religious actors, islamism…) democratic transition and Women’s political participation. She was appointed as one of the original members of the Committee of Experts to the Ben Achour Reform Commission where she worked on different projects of law concerning democratic transition such as the electoral code ands press code. Co-President of GRIC (Groupe de recherche Islamo-chretien), co-founder and President of the Tunisian Observatory of the democratic transition. she published several academic articles and books.
